2016 Australasian Auctioneering Championships
9 Sep 16
The centre of Australia was rocked last night by the best auctioneers from around the country and New Zealand this week. The Real Estate Institute of the Northern Territory as the host nation did us all very proud.
Congratulations to Queensland and Justin Nickerson on their stunning win in the 2016 Australasian Auctioneering Championships. As one wise old head mentioned, Justin "scrambled his way to his auctioneering Everest, with a monumental win in the 18th edition of our very fine event".
While Queensland had its seniors moment, the Schools Competition also came of age.
REISA CEO, Greg Troughton said “Congratulations to Tasmania and Carlton Heres on their fine win in the Australasian Auctioneering Schools Competition. Carlton did his State and Australia proud and is a star to keep your eye on”.
“Carlton's school, Scotch Oakburn College, along with the other competitors and their schools, should be very proud. The Schools Competition is a first time event – and sitting alongside its older Championship brother – will both forever determine the best of the best”
“On that note, it would be remiss of me not to remember the very famous one liner coined by the newest auction champion from Australia of the new definition of a miracle - the lobster in the kitchen on the Titanic. Who knew Justin Nickerson was both an able seaman and a philosopher? Masterful, just masterful” Mr Troughton said.
South Australia looks forward to hosting both Championships next year and putting on a show that - just like the competitors – is simply the best of the best.Back
