Alex Ouwens – President

Alexander Ouwens started Ouwens Casserly Real Estate on 1/11/11 with his best friend Nathan Casserly. OC has grown from 2 to 90+ employees in this time, with over 1300 properties under rental management and has sold well over 2000 properties, making OC one of Australia’s fastest growing real estate businesses. His passion for the industry is evidenced by being the youngest President of The Real Estate Institute of SA where he has been President since 2015.

Alex is a much sought after public speaker due to his reputation as a thought leader in the real estate landscape. He recently spoke at the prestigious Australian Real Estate Conference in 2014 & was invited back to speak in 2016 before 4000 delegates.

Before commencing real estate in 2006, Alex studied Commerce at Flinders University, lived in Europe for several years and worked in hospitality management. Personally, he enjoys sharing good food and wine with friends on Kangaroo Island (less frequent now!), reading, watching sports, keeping fit and travelling with his beautiful wife, Paula, gorgeous daughter Maya & smiley son Van.

Phil Harris – Vice President

Phil is passionate about both people and property and heads our multi office network with over 100 staff and 2000 rental properties. Phil has a hands on approach and enjoys being at the forefront, actively selling and auctioneering on behalf of our clients. Formed in 2010, Harris is an industry leader priding itself on continual improvement whilst delivering outstanding customer service.

Phil makes a point of always being accessible to give personal, professional property advice to existing and potential clients and speaks at industry conferences worldwide.

Phil’s enthusiasm and attention to detail flows through the organisation ensuring the best possible results for clients across Adelaide.

Christine Bertram – Director

Christine Bertram is the owner / manager of Bertram & Co, a team of registered and certified practising Conveyancers who have been serving the South Australian public for over 27 years.

Bertram & Co have been operating since 1983, are members of The Real Estate Institute of South Australia and members of The Australian Institute of Conveyancers South Australian Division.

Christine is also a member of “LOV” Ladies of Variety the Children's Charity, volunteering her time to help under privileged and disabled children in South Australia.

Andy Edwards - Director

Andy Edwards has been in the real estate industry for 27 years commencing as a property manager in the family owned agency network located in Clare, Blackwood & Goodwood.

For 10 years, Andy owned and operated his own independent regional agency and for the last 9 years has held senior corporate roles within Landmark, Ruralco and is currently the Elders Real Estate Southern Zone Manager (SA, VIC & TAS).

As a REISA member for the whole of his working life, Andy is a firm advocate of the role of REISA in representing the industry and its importance (more than ever) in advancing the industry in relation to IT, training and compliance.

Brett Roenfeldt OAM - Director

Brett commenced his real estate career in 1979, opening an agency which he operated in partnership for 15 years. In 1995 Brett established South Australia’s only fulltime freelance auctioneering company. During his long career, Brett has conducted in excess of 18,500 property auctions. Brett has won many industry awards including the Order of Australia Medal for services to the real estate industry, the REIA Presidents Award for Excellence and the REISA Sir Robert Torrens Award.

Robin Turner - Director

A leading identity in Adelaide property circles, Robin Turner is a qualified valuer and principal of Turner Real Estate which has been established for 25 years. It is now one of Adelaide’s largest independent agencies in both property management and sales.

Being involved in the profession that he loves dearly is important to Robin. He previously served as the REISA President for four years (2003-2005 & 2007-2009). During this time, real estate underwent major legislative change to improve professional conduct. Robin has also served as the SA representative on the REIA for two years (2009-2011). Recognising his service to real estate, Robin is a Sir Robert Torrens Award winner.

Outside of real estate, Robin is actively involved in the local community. Currently he is a long-standing member of RSL Care (War Services Homes) and the Rotary Club of Adelaide (where he is recognised as a Paul Harris Fellow).

Greg Hobby - Independent Director

Greg Hobby has spent most of his working life in advertising.

Following his role at Clemenger BBDO Advertising network, Greg started his own advertising agency in October, 1980.

Greg now runs the successful business: OutThinking. He credits his success in business to being a firm believer that people come first, then great products and finally great marketing.

As Chief OutThinker, Greg creates, develops and implements cohesive, authentic, original ideas and the strategies needed to launch them.

He maintains a passionate ambition to build OutThinking into the most awesome* ideas company in the world.

*Awesome means ‘to be filled with reverential wonder’.

Ben Philpott - Independent Director

Benjamin Philpott is the Chairperson of the Property Management Committee and Trainer at REISA and the Senior Property Manager of DB Philpott Real Estate Rentals.

Benjamin has over 17 years’ experience in the industry as a Property Manager.

Nick Storer – Independent Director

Nick is a Director of Bentleys Adelaide chartered accountants and business advisors and has been in private practice since 1983, having spent seven years prior to that commerce both in sales and administration.

He provides business and taxation advice at all levels including strategic planning, business restructuring, sale and purchase of businesses, performance management and business succession.

Nick has served on local government and a wide range of boards and statutory bodies. He was the former National Chairman of Bentleys - Australia. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the National Institute of Accountants and the International Governing Council of Praxity.
